Pescadoo Katla fish, also known as Indian Carp, is one of the genus of the carp family Cyprinidae. This carp species has three scientific names: Gibelion katla, Cyprinus katla, and katla. The fish is popularly called Bhakur in India. It is found in rivers and freshwater lakes in North India as well as in other parts of India like the Indus Plain.
